Q: Should I quit my job at the Catholic Diocese to go work at a Country Club?
I have been working at this clerical job for 4 years now and it is getting old. I am 20 years old and just got a job at the local country club. I would be leaving a boring job which is easy for a fun job with more work??
A: well .................
the way the world is going these day
perhaps the country club might last longer than the Catholic Church
so that is one consideration to keep in mind
Q: Which catholic diocese in the Philippines allow interfaith marriage?
thanks for the replies so far. esp. for the link to the catechism site. I do know that interfaith marriages are allowed. at least theoretically but the problem is when I inquired, I was told at the church that my diocese (cuabo) doesn't allow it. It occured to me that that my problem could be a stupid or lazy clerk giving the wrong info.
but if anyone knows of a particular diocese in metro manila that they are really sure of that allows interfaith marriage, please post it. thanks.
A: The Catholic Church allows marriage between Catholics and non-Catholics worldwide.
Because the Church recognizes the tremendous challenge that the interfaith couple will face, they may have to get permission from the bishop.

Q: how screwed up is the catholic diocese?
they think nothing of protecting child molestors by passing them from parish to parish but they suspend a priest for stalking an adult? i know it's not as black and white as that, but tell me, how screwed up are these people that they think so little of children?
A: You need to get some more facts.
A Catholic diocese is a geographic region run by a bishop. Which diocese are you talking about?
In my diocese, the bishops have always protected the kids. We've had two priests mistreat youngsters over the past 40 years and both of them went straight to jail while the bishop stood by the victims and their families.
Granted, this policy was not followed everywhere, as it should have been. But since 2002, the U.S. bishops have taken steps to make it right.
Now then....WHICH diocese are you talking about and WHAT facts do you want to use in your argument against it?
Q: The Catholic diocese in my city announced the 31st priest has been convicted of molestation...
Would you still go to church after that?
A: Of course.
In every population of human beings are going to a few sick or evil people who commit horrible crimes, even in the Church.
The percentage of pedophiles in the clergy of the Catholic Church is actually less than that of society in general.
These few terrible people do not negate the faith, hope and love of over one billion Catholics.
Remember that the Church is neither the Church hierarchy nor the priests. The Church is God and His relationship with over one billion living Catholics on Earth and God only knows how many in heaven, all of whom make up the Body of Christ.
Remember that political scandals in nations, even up to and including the highest leaders, like President Nixon and the Watergate scandal, do not make the nation as a whole wrong, immoral, or worthless. And the Catholic Church is so much holier and more important than any nation.

Q: What was the first catholic diocese in america?
A: The Archdiocese of Baltimore, the first diocese established in the country, I believe.
Q: what is the oldest Catholic diocese in the United States?
A: Baltimore, but I'm not positive.
Q: I'm wondering about some priests who used to be affiliated with the Catholic diocese of Peoria, Illinois.?
Where are Father Thomas Gibson and Father Ben Rodriguez? I believe the former has explored the monastic vocation, but it's anybody's guess as to his whereabouts ... And whatever has become of the latter?
A: I would call the diocese office and ask them.
Q: what is a catholic diocese?
i just have no clue what a diocese is and i know that its catholic
A: The hierarchy of ordained ministers in the Catholic Church mirrors how Jesus and the Apostles set up the original Christian Church.
There are three levels of Holy Orders, Deacon, Priest, and Bishop.
Bishops are the Apostles of today. Each one leads a diocese, a group of parishes centered around a large city. Special types of bishop are archbishop, cardinal, and pope (who leads the whole Church).
Priests are co-workers of the bishops and can lead a parish. A special title for a priest is monsignor. Priests are called presbyters in the Bible.
Deacons assist the bishop and priests in the celebration of the Eucharist, in the distribution of Holy Communion, in assisting at and blessing marriages, in the proclamation of the Gospel and preaching, in presiding over funerals, and in dedicating themselves to the various ministries of charity.

Q: what about the 16M dollar payoff by san diego catholic diocese?
i'm not tryiong to offend here, i'm seriously wanting some answers as to how catholics can remain true to their religion when there has been so much child abuse through the years by their priests? i mean these people are supposed to represent god with a big G...how can you take them serious as a religion or theology at all? i've been wondering for years about this!
A: Thats what I have been wandering also. you never hear of any other religion having child molestation and abuse like you do from catholic priests. Thats one reason I can't stand the catholic religion.
Q: What is required in a Roman Catholic parish and diocese to qualify as a..?
lector/ commentator and a Eucharist Minister
A: as a reader of the days word, one must be clear in their speech and concise, the same goes for being a commentater.
a eucharistic minister is a different kettle of fish.
you must be well known to the priest, be of good standing, well versed in the catholic faith, plus other reasons that the priest may want to know
Q: Does anyone know the web address for the vocation office of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany, NY?
A: I believe this is it.
http://www.albanyvocations.org/
Q: What do you think of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego settling sexual abuse cases for $1.4 million each
A: why don't you just let your priests have sex "with woman" and they might stop having sex with little boys
Hey i like how i got under your skin with what i said...........Thanks for the e-mail....lol
priests that do sick things like that ARE GOING TO HELL!!!! no matter how many hail Marys they say or even if they pay $1.4 million........"$1.4 million is nothing to them"
Q: My catholic diocese wont allow me to be married on a sunday, what do I do?
My fiance and I are both catholic and live in the pittsburgh, pa area. We want to be married, but we wanted a Sunday service as there are a number of circumstances that will not allow for a friday or saturday wedding. I contacted my church and they said it was not possible, I contacted the pittsburgh diocese and they will not permit it, neither will greensburg. I want to be married catholic as I do practice my faith, but if they insist on being this stubborn, it may not be an option. It is causing mass chaos and confusion between my fiance and I, we just want to have things planned already. I know it isnt sacreligious to have a catholic wedding on a sunday, its just the diocese in our areas will not permit it. Now what do we do...abandon our faith and opt for a nondenominational wedding because the diocese refuse to help us? i went to catholic school for 10 years, I was an alter server, and I go to church 95% of sundays. Why wont they help me and what should I do now? please help!!!
A: If you are really intent on getting married in a Catholic Church, then you should have your wedding on a Friday or Saturday. The Catholic Church is very rigid when it comes to 'rules', I know, I'm Catholic. They will not change the rules just for you. The Church is "not being stubborn" as you put it, I think it's just that you expect everyone (including the Catholic Church) to give in to your requests just because it's your wedding day. Sorry, I have to call it as I see it.
Q: GOOD Roman Catholic Diocese?
I am a 27 year old Catholic looking to move in the next couple years. I'd like to go to a diocese that is growing, active and orthodox with a dynamic bishop. Any suggestions???
I am happy with the diocese I live in now-but I am planning on moving in the next few years regardless. Since I have a lot of flexibility AND my faith is very important to me, I thought I would use this as part of the criteria for choosing the city to live in.
A: Cincinnati, Ohio!
