Q: What is the name of the "skull cap" type hat worn by Muslim men? Need info on traditional male Muslim clothing?
I hope not to offend anyone by calling it that. I am trying to look for information on male Muslim clothing. I do not know the names of the different types of clothes myself, so it's becoming increasingly difficult. Thank you for your time and effort. P.S I am looking for real answers not ignorant, racist slurs.

A: Think they are called Kufi's or prayer caps.

Q: Where can I buy a hijab in Boston? Where is there a Muslim clothing store?

A: I have no idea, but you can get anything you need here: http://www.alhannah.com I buy from them alot! I have abaya's, shoes, punjabi suits, hijabs, niqabs, gloves, socks, rugs, insense you name it, it's there and they are really good people and ARE Muslims. They have a store in Connecticut

Q: Where can I get free muslim clothing
I can't really afford proper clothing. Where can I find it for free. Like hijabs & abayas

A: The only place that you can possibly get free Muslim clothing is at the Salvation Army ! But, even the Salvation Army usually has a small charge for their clothing !

Q: as reported in the papers today.Muslim clothing to be banned by schools?
in britain new laws are being introduced to stop muslim girls from covering there face, but as usual our wonderful poloticians have put the decision on weather to implement this law on the discretion of the [headmaster]do you think this is right or should the clothes that cover there face be banned all together.[sorry forget the name of clothing]

A: Different cultures and religions have different styles. If they find it important to wear a veil, who are we to judge. I personally think Catholic nuns look ridiculous but that's really none of my business.

Q: I'm Muslim and thinking of wearing traditional Muslim clothing in public here in America. What is your opinion?
Hello/Salaam. I'm a Muslim guy and I live in Florida. I'm thinking of wearing traditional Muslim clothing in public. I see girls who wear hijab and some of the other Muslims say that Muslim girls are representing Islam by wearing the hijab (headcovering) and the brothers don't even wear Sunnah clothing. Also, I feel that if I wear Sunnah/traditional clothing, people will ask me about Islam and it would be good dawah. So yeah, I'm thinking about wearing Muslim clothing in public. What are your thoughts about this? Note: I'm part white and I was born in America. I'm not from another country

A: Go for it. But a Beard and more humble action may be a better representation of Islam. If you decide to wear more traditional clothes... Please just don't be the guy in the Kufi and thobe, making out with his girlfriend. [Thats all I ask]

Q: Will the media call out Hillary on wearing muslim clothing?

A: Oh they should.....

Q: What is "Universal" clothing for a Muslim woman?
I am going to Chicago next week and want to buy hijab and "Muslim clothing", I am considering to start trying hijab to see what it feels like. I do not want to look like an idiot (I am a White American) and wear something that makes me look fake.. Is Abaya universal for women? I was considering getting an Abaya and some scarves and hijab pins... What do you suggest I get? What I mean when I say "looking fake" is wearing another cultures traditional clothing.. I don't want to look like a White girl trying to be something I am not..

A: I understand what you mean- you want to keep your cultural 'look' but in a modest manner. Abayas can be a large step and change from 'American clothing" but I think its beautiful and comfy. Hijabs come in different ways [some are snug on your head like a hood or get a large scarf and wrap it around your head, covering bosom] Abayas to my knowledge may be considered universal as they are worn in many different ways, colors, and patterns around the world

Q: What was Obama thinking when he put on Muslim clothing, did he not think that might look bad?

A: He was visiting his fathers country of Kenya. When he was offered the traditional clothing he accepted it and diplomatically wore it. I am sure he was doing so to connect with the people there as well as to not insult them by refusing to wear it. It is un-diplomatic to refuse to wear a nations traditional clothing when on their land. It would be like refusing to wear a yamulka in a synogogue..... or wearing your baseball cap in a church.
