Q: islamic history??
what is it like to be a woman in early islamic society?what rights did they have and what rights they did not have? how are they expeted to dress? whats their role in society?

A: Your question's answer is really too long to be written here but I would like to try to answer as a Muslim woman. Our religion is experienced really very differently. The women where I live in including me are very open-minded and modern. but of course this is not the same in other parts. Islam is first seen in Saudi Arabia. The reason why our prophet was chosen from that society was because at that time there was too much violence and bad things happening in Arabia. Especially that was true for women. So our prophet ordered the women to dress covering their bodies completely in order to protect them from being exposed to violence. The reason why our prophet had 4 wives is again to protect as many women as he could. As Muslims we must believe in the things only written in our holy book. Islam is a religion that accepts no agent between the God and the man. But of course as in every religion there are some people who try to interpret what is said. Because interpretations are actually comments people are sometimes mislead either intentionally or the vice versa. the point is every Muslim must read our book because everything is written there. There is really no need for agents. But you should agree that there are bad people in every community. Our book tells the women to dress appropriately enough not to take the interest of men but it doesn't tell us to cover our heads. Our book orders the women to be loyal to their husbands and orders the men to be kind to their wives at all times. Our book tells us that when we die, we'll be questioned. I am married. For example when I die, I'll be asked:"Did your husband treat you well?" If I say yes, no problem but if I say no, there's really a big problem. The vice versa is also true for men. I guess this clears the answer a little. I have lots to tell but this is really not the right place. I understand some non-muslims being predujiced about us because of the latest events but pls remember these are absolutely not written in our book. these people will severly be punished when they die. All the muslims are not same. Like every community in the world we have bad and good people among ouserselves. I want to thank you for trying to learn the truth. I really appreciate that. I have read the Bible and I hope you read ours, too. (A small hint about the role of Muslim women: I am the boss in our marriage:)))))

Q: What is the significance of Timurid and Safavid in Islamic history?

A: The Safavid dynasty was founded by Esma'il I (1501-24). The art of this dynasty reached its zenith during the reigns of Tahmasp (1524-76) and of 'Abbas I (1588-1629). This phase of the Safavid period also marked the last significant development of Islamic art in Iran, for after the middle of the 17th century original creativity disappeared in all mediums. Rugs and objects in silver, gold, and enamel continued to be made and exhibited a considerable technical virtuosity, even when they were lacking in inventiveness. In the realm of architecture, the Timurids drew on and developed many Seljuq traditions. Turquoise and blue tiles forming intricate linear and geometric patterns decorated the facades of buildings. Sometimes the interior was decorated similarly, with painting and stucco relief further enriching the effect. The Gur-e Amir, Timur's mausoleum in Samarkand, is the most notable example. The tiled dome, rising above a polygonal chamber, is fluted and slightly bulbous. Of the Ak-Saray, Timur's palace built between 1390 and 1405 at Kesh, only the monumental gates remain, again with coloured-tile decoration.

Q: Why shias wants to defame All the heroes of islamic history ?
I came across a Question about khalid bin waleed ,a great sahabi & commander ,gave me a shock. According to shias all the sahaba r criminal, except three ,How can one believe that?

A: Good God people! AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHH! Is this all you waste time on everyday? who's right and who's wrong? Mr. Yazeed ibin iblees, for your comment, I want proof that Wahhabis believe that the Sa7abas were better than the Prophets family? That is a load of crap! I know Wahhabism inside out, they regard Muhammad (PBUH) to be the greatest of man, and no one else is more superior than another, whether they were sahabis or relatives of the Prophet, except in their knowledge and implement of the deen (faith) in their lives. You remember what the prophet said about that? "No Arab is superior to a non-Arab, No non-Arab is superior to an Arab, No White person is superior to a Black person, and No Black person is superior to a White person EXCEPT by TAQWAA (Piety, Fear of Allah). And no, it is not true, Shias do not defame All the heroes of Islamic History. Our Heroes include Muhammad (PBUH) and Ali, the Ahlul Bayt (blood relatives of Muhammed PBUH from Ali & Fatima and their decedents). You need to understand, Sunnis and Shias have 2 things in common, and only two in which neither side will argue. The oneness of Allah and the Quran. Anything besides that will basically have differences, major differences, and what they believe and what you believe, keep it that way. You don't have to accept what they believe, and they don't have to accept what you believe. The reason the two have such completely opposite views is because they have a different interpretation of what really happened. i.e. for the Sunnis, the sahabas are good and for the Shias, the sahabas are just about evil. Wrong for the both of you! There were good there were bad, let's leave it at that shall we? Hey Eviwahhabi, Shut Up! You are really annoying, anything you post is major biased, no one wants to hear you throw out verses from the Quran and claim it means what you want it to. It's stupid and it makes you look like you have an IQ of -120. And for the people who keep blaming things on the Jews and the British. My goodness, is it a little hard for us to take the blame? They sure as hell weren't responsible for making the Shias and Sunnis divide after the death of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) nor did they have anything to do with what started as a political division and later grew into the problem we are having today. It is our, and only our fault that all of this is happening. And its people like you, and ibin iblees, and eviwahhabi who make it worse and worse and worse and just divide everyone up some more. Do us all a favor and shut up and just accept what you accept and stop feeding the flames. Overtime, Sunnis and Shias have been having more and more problems, and the tensions are worsening. All because we can't learn to just accept each other and live life peacefully! Try being more open-minded and forget what your parents told you, what you see in the media, and what you read on Wikipedia. And freaking get with those people you call your "enemies" and try to understand and learn their point of view and the other way around. You'll learn it's not so bad and this world can be a better place for the both of you. It took me a while to figure out how stupid I was until I just stopped, and decided to just listen. Peace everyone and take care.

Q: Question on Islamic history: Did the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) ever receive an education at school?
No rude answers would be appreciated and Trolls beware...

A: no he was illiterate from birth to death

Q: History is written by the victors, what about Islamic history?
Does it suffer the same fate ? Can you cite instances in history of Islam where the truth was deliberately kept hidden or erased? Just any examples or names of people and all that. Salam and thanks;-)

A: Here's an example of Islamic history that was written by those defeated as a form of retaliation. AlHajjaj Ibn Yousef AlThagafi who was asked by the Khalifa to go to Iraq and lead it as it's not controllable. He was an aggressive controller and was on a mission to unify. He came from Taif, the mountains in the west of Saudi Arabia now. He was short and he was not an attractive man.. We had a saying, fear those close to the ground. ;-) A more well known figure is Mao Tsi-Tung who had a similar dictatorial harsh method for a political unification of a region. When he had arrived at Iraq, he went to the mosque and went to the podium while covering his face with his turban. He expressed that he's well know and that if he removes his cover that they'll all know who he is. He removed it and then continued.. he said that you Iraqi's are known for the trouble you make and being Hypocritical. I see many heads that have ripened and I see that I'm their 'picker'. I swear, if I order a man to exit this mosque from that door and he exits from the other, I shall chop his head off. That's what he said, then came the doing which was recorded in history by his victims, as he wasn't into 'recording' and was more into the 'doing' of things. :-p When AlHajjaj had died, his Son ordered that he be taken from the mosque after they prayed on him in a straight line to the graveyard.. all homes on the way would be demolished. He wanted the people to say May Allah forgive AlHajjaj in comparison to his Son! That they had said. ;-) What AlHajjaj has done that makes me question the history that was written about him was that he's the one who has dotted the Quran in order to ease its reading for those less skillful in Arabic Grammer, as those that are know how to read the Quran without the dots. I do not see that Allah would give such a privilega to a man that has been claimed by history to have done what he has done.. Allah know best!

Q: Islamic History: why are there +1 billion Christians, and less than 100 000 Zoroastrians?
There were these two religions: Christianity and Zoroastrianism. Adherents of both fought with adherents of Islam; but while Christianity survived and grew to present numbers, Zoroastrianism shrunk. What happened? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoroastrianism
