Q: do lebanese men wear islamic clothing's like the ones in saudi arabia?
I know alot of lebanese muslim women wear the hijab but i don't see any lebanese men wearing islamic clothes, I only see sheikhs and imams wearing them . Why is that?

A: There isn't any "Islamic clothing" for men. The reason that Saudi men wear the thobe (the clothing that you usually see arab men wear) is because it cools the body in hot temperatures plus its just that men like to wear it cause its sort of like a trend. But Saudi men can wear what ever they want as long as it doesn't reveal a lot of stuff. The reason that you see a lot of shaikhs and imams wearing the thobe because its recommended in islam (not mandatory).

Q: Does anyone know any good islamic clothing websites?

Q: about islamic women clothing?
there is a lady who is confused about the islamic clothing for women. can you tell the why women should wear thier Hijab.

A: Listen im muslim, so ignore all these other people with rude comments. theres so many reasons why a women should wear their hijab. Number 1) to show a sence or morals. when a women is wearing hijab, u can be sure that when people talk to her, theyr not looking at her as if shes a sexual object, there is more beauty in women then revealing parts of your body. certain parts should only be exposed to the womens husband. number 2) to keep us safe, again it goes back to being a sexual object, if a man sees 2 women, one wearing a mini skirt and a tube top, and one wearing a hijab and a jacket, which is he going to go for? obviously the first one (non hijab), and u never know who this man could be. and if he end up tryin to get at her, how do u know if hes a good guy? OR a rapist? u just saved urself from a possible harmful sittuation, or not. but its not worth the risk, so thats why also a saftey thing number 3) because in the quran it says so:) its simple as that. and by the way, if this women doesnt want to wear it, its her choice try not to force it on her because she will just want to go farther from the faith. let it come in her own time. but ITS OKAY to mention it to her and try to convince her! personally i think its BEAUTIFUL! AND LIBERATING, and it shows a women is totally in control of her sexuality! thank u for your question!! god bless you!

Q: "Islamic" clothing particularly headscarves Modesty or Vanity?
I've been wondering about this for a while. Has anyone wondered if sometimes wearing strict "Islamic" style clothing could actually be a form of the sin of false modesty and hence vanity? I better start by stating I have no objection to Muslima wearing head scarves and full length sleeve tops when they 're fully consenting adult women but I do not think its right to make or encourage young girls and teenagers to wear them especially to school. Its just I see some headscarves that are multi layer concoctions that must take longer to arrange and pin then many hair dos? Is this modesty or vanity? And as for wearing burqas and manitous I've looked up the Quranic verse and are they really Islamic? Truly? Are garments that hinder your movements really modest! By trying to look "righteous" could you really be performing an act of vanity? And yes I do ackjnowledge the samecriticisim could be made of some conservative "christian" clothing styles? People Please note the question is NOT WHY you wear "islamic clothing". Let me try rephrasing the question slightly. Could wearing Islamic clothing especially headscarves SOMETIMES be a form of "false" modesty or vanity even? However I have given positive points to some posters anyway for clarity and style. Modesty or Vanity?

A: No, wearing proper Islamic clothing could not be considered vain. Having said that I do understand your perception. There are many styles of hijaab that surely are not proper Islamic hijaab and are beautifying. Many of them are not modest by Islamic standards. As far as 'burqa' and your question about them being truly Islamic. I am not sure what you mean. Burqa is really just a dress but I assume you mean the type worn in Afghanistan that is one piece covering from top of head to toe. There is a difference of opinion on whether it is obligatory or not. The word used in Arabic in surah al-noor is juyoobihinna. The difference of opinion (combined with other verses of Qur'an and hundreds of hadeeth) in the defining of this word is why there are different rulings. For a person to say that the niqaab (covering the face) is NOT Islamic is not correct. It is Islamic but whether it is obligatory or not is debatable. That is also not to say that regular hijaab is not Islamic as it is also Islamic.

Q: Is there any Islamic clothing shops in australia?

A: I have seen some in the suburb of Campsie, in Sydney. They are on the main street there, called Beamish Street, but I don't know their names. Other cities with Islamic poopulations would also have some, as well as a few other suburbs in Sydney.

Q: question for islamic boys and men about your clothing?
i wanted to ask do you enjoy wearing your traditional islamic clothing ie the dishdada Jalabiyyah sirwal etc and what are they like to wear also why do you wear them what do the represent and signify

A: I was hoping you'd get some answers because I wonder that too but in an offbeat "why do they look like they're wearing pajamas outside?" kind of way. The clothes are definitely inappropriate for Canadian winters but they will not adapt and put on a simple pair of jeans and a sweater to stay warmer. I don't find the clothes to be very attractive or manly. .

Q: Islamic Clothing for Teens?
Does anyone knw where i can find islamic clothing for teens? Im trying to find a store with nice clothes in california. "Islamic Clothing" meaning nice clothes that cover your body right. That are long, loose and modest. You cant find nice tops at stores that are long and nice looking. Once in a while you may, but its not likely. Please do not bite my head off for saying "Islamic" Jazakullah

A: there are places on the internet. shukronline.com is one, but i think it is shukr.com. don't know my mom goes on that site. i suggest going to new york and company or h&m or even wet seal because they have stylish yet modest clothes. i don't know if you are a male or female so i can't help much. but h&m and wet seal are my absolute favorite stores and they have nice mmodest stuff. as long as your clothes are loose and not reveling then you can wear anything. macy's has some nice skirts. one of my friends always gets hers from there. forever 21 has some summer dress and stuff. they are on sale on the east coast. i don't know about california. i hope i helped

Girls? I'm quite new in Islam. My walldrobe still misses some Islamic Clothes. I have a lot of hijabs but I need some nice dresses or kaftans which I can wear at home (outside I'm wearing only black abayas). I have found some nice sites....but from the USA. Shipping costs are too high, unfortunatelly! Do anybody knows any UK web sites or from arabic countries? I don't know arabic, but I can choose something nice if the picture is attached. Kaftan (or caftan) it's a kind of dress (like abaya but wearing at home, not outside) with long sleves usually, or 3/4 sleves. Most of arabic women wear this kind of clothes at theirs homes, together with matching scarf. It's usually more coloured, not black etc. Look at http://www.rupalionline.com/ - there are some kaftans. I need something like this or similar but with more choices.

Q: Muslims - what is the Islamic view on men wearing womens clothing ?
I refer to Michael Jackson's recent conversion and pictures showing him wearing what looks like to me womens attire. Surely the Imam who presided over his declaration of faith/intent would have said something ?

A: Well this is the second time this has been asked and I hope this time more people search for this question instead of asking again, but I hope I can clarify this. Six criteria for Hijab: According to the Quran and the Sunnah, there are basically six criteria for observing hijab: 1. Extent: The first criterion is the extent of the body that should be covered. This is different for men and women. The extent of covering obligatory on the male is to cover the body at least from the navel to the knees. For women, the extent of covering obligatory is to cover the complete body except the face and the hands up to the wrist. If they wish to, they can cover even these parts of the body. Some scholars of Islam insist that the face and the hands are part of the obligatory extent of ‘hijab’. All the remaining five criteria are the same for men and women. 2. The clothes worn should be loose and should not reveal the figure. 3. The clothes worn should not be transparent such that one can see through them. 4. The clothes worn should not be so glamorous as to attract the opposite sex. 5. The clothes worn should NOT resemble that of the OPPOSITE SEX. 6. The clothes worn should not resemble that of the unbelievers i.e. they should not wear clothes that are specifically identities or symbols of the unbelievers’ religions.
