Q: Any verses in the NIV Bible for teenage girls?
I get to give the devotion for the girls in Y-Club tomorrow. A boy is giving the guy's devotion. I use the NIV Bible. I need some verses that I could use? That are related to the problems that teenage girls face today. Like drama, friends, boys, etc. Anyone have any ideas?

A: Isaiah 40:29-31 I Corinthians 10:13 I Timothy 4:12 Joshua 1:9 Jeremiah 29:11 II Timothy 2:22-25 ( I & II Timothy are really encouraging)

Q: Where can I get the NIV Audio bible for free?
I need a NIV version of the bible. I looked all over the internet is it possible to get a free version of it?

A: There is...but be aware that the NIV deleted 47 verses alone from the NT.

Q: Christians: How does the NIV Bible compare to the KJV Bible?
Any opinions? Please don't waste your time telling me there's no God. I believe in God and I love God. You can not change that so please just respect my beliefs. Thanks everyone. Well I asked because I'm looking for a "study" Bible. I use the KJV, but can only find study versions of the NIV.

A: I'm a steadfast KJV only person and I don't apologize at all. I believe God is sovereign and has full capabilities to preserve His word throughout time without the updating used today. While people understandably don't speak the language of the KJV does not mean its to hard to understand...One that's why studying and rightly dividing the word is for, and if your being guided by Holy Spirit as you read and study He will give you the discernment and wisdom to understand it..the Niv and other translations do leave out and add newer meanings that completely change alter or mislead in its wording and lack there of. like putting the letter a before There was God making it now read there was a God...dear friend there is only one God, but those type of things make a person stop and think and change their foundations...often. I don't understand when people say the more you look at the better...God only has one word that set on Heaven, to me its a ploy of the devil who is the great imitator and uses Gods own people and word to twist it around to cause division..He tried it even with Jesus in the wilderness..The world we live in today is so self reliant and so intelligent we try more and more to make God into what we want and live almost in ways that suggest we know as much as God, yet the world we live in today is so much more wicked and morally corrupt, why would God look down and want to give us our generations the right word finally since they "found the originals" that somehow contradict a lot of the teachings. Does He love us more think we're more faithful and close in needing this..no..its absurd. The many translations just cause division corruption of the word, confusion, problems amongst believers, their is no unity. A preacher is preaching out of one book and people are in 5 different ones, that say different things, where is the unity and where can things make sense...does that sound like the God who is the same today yesterday and forever? No. He has power to keep and preserve one form of scripture for us and I believe its the KJV, it was good for hundreds of years, saving people changing lives and making sure men have the Love of God in them that allowed it to be passed down to us all these years later, so why now why now do we have so many translations, God said oh ok now its time to let the truth come out and let people know what I really meant. Stick with the KJV it won't steer you down the wrong path but draw you closer and see what God will do.

Q: Bible Question: Any Example of a NIV Bible Verse that tells about the Rapture?
Please answer strictly.

A: The "Rapture" is a doctrine that was created in the third or fourth century. It is not in the Bible at all. If you read Matthew 24:29-31, it specifically states that we will be "gathered up" (raptured) at the END of the Tribulation-not before. Matthew 24:29-31 (NIV) 29"Immediately after the distress of those days (Tribulation) " 'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.' 30"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds,(Rapture) from one end of the heavens to the other. So it doesn't seem like it is going to happen until after the bad stuff happens....it's to separate the "sheep" from the "goats"

Q: Christians is the NIV a good Bible translation ?
I read the New International Version but some say the King James Version is the best. What is a good english Bible translation?

A: The NIV is changed and missing verses: http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Bible/NIV/niv_deletes_verses.htm Use the KJV. It is 100% accurate. The KJV comes from the Textus Receptus (Syrian) text, which is 100% accurate. Anyone that tells you to avoid the KJV, is in a cult, like the catholic cult or the JW cult. Avoid their advice.

Q: Is the meaning correct that understanding NIV version Bible with mordern English?
I have one NIV(New International Version) bible. Is the language grammar of Bible(NIV) mordern English?Does anyone speak like it?Is the meaning correct that understanding NIV version Bible with mordern English? I have to learn English by reciting Bible, have no Interesting with the other Resources. I am not English nativespeaker

A: Yes. It is modern English. It seems to avoid slang and words particular to groups of English speakers. Pretty much anyone that speaks English should be able to understand it. Yes, people talk like the English in NIV. NIV is a good translation and is very popular also. All translations have their criticisms. Some think KJV is more accurate, but KJV is definitely not modern English and that is your question. It wouldn't be good to practice modern English from KJV. We all have our favorites.

Q: How many books and verses are there in the new and old testiment of the NIV Bible?

A: There Are 66 Bible "Books" in the NIV Bible and (MORE) than 15,000 Scriptures !

Q: Can one believe the NIV BIble yet not condemn everyone who does not?
Can Christians who believe The NIV Bible Accept others beliefs? Can they say to a non Believer that they are NOT going to Hell when they Don't believe in Christ? Elhanna, that is if one believes, they may have their own belief of Hell other than the Bibles teaching.

A: Why would you condemn someone over the bible they read, all are translations. Non-believers are going to hell, based on their decision to disbelieve in the Son of God. What does that have to do with translations of the bible?

Q: My mom's looking for an NIV/ESV Bible that has explanations of the text in understandable terms. Suggestions?
She doesn't quite understand what some of the text is saying so she wants it better explained when she has no one around to ask. I was thinking the Concordia Self-Study Bible but I am not sure if that will help her.

A: Quest study Bible has thousands of footnotes on thousands of verses. I highly recommend this Bible as it answers many many questions people have in understandable terms.

Q: Where can I go to download a free NIV bible to my computer?

A: http://www.biblegateway.com/versions/?action=getVersionInfo&vid=31 You would have to download the entire web html but it is possible.

Q: What version of the bible is easier to read, NIV or the NKJV?
im 17 and i currently read the New King James Version, but i find some of the old testament difficult at times. Is the NIV easier to read, while still being accurate? Thank you for the help!

A: A couple of readable versions have been mentioned but return to the KJV and a Strong's Concordance when studying: "The market-place is being glutted with new books which are being represented as versions of the Bible. Each one claims to be the very word of God, yet there are literally thousands of differences between them . . . . they all leave out dozens of references to the deity of Jesus Christ, and they add words which tend to question His virgin birth, His substitutionary, fully satisfying atonement. This is due to their decision to depend upon an Alexandrian [Egyptian] textbase, instead of that body of God's words which has been universally received and believed in for nineteen centuries, known to us as the Received Text. These new versions [such as the NIV, New Jerusalem Bible and others] are not only marked by additions, but also by subtractions, since some four whole pages of words, phrases, sentences and verses have been omitted by these new versions. And these are words attested to as God's words by overwhelming evidence contained in all the Greek manuscripts. -Jay P. Green, Sr.,

Q: Is the NIV Bible Translation Authantic or have they missed something out during translaton?

A: Why did the recently published “New International Version” (NIV) of the Bible fail to use the name of God where it appears about 7,000 times in ancient Bible manuscripts? In response to a person who inquired about this, Edwin H. Palmer, Th.D., Executive Secretary for the NIV’s committee wrote: “Here is why we did not: You are right that Jehovah is a distinctive name for God and ideally we should have used it. But we put 2 1/4 million dollars into this translation and a sure way of throwing that down the drain is to translate, for example, Psalm 23 as, ‘Yahweh is my shepherd.’ Immediately, we would have translated for nothing. Nobody would have used it. Oh, maybe you and a handful [of] others. But a Christian has to be also wise and practical. We are the victims of 350 years of the King James tradition. It is far better to get two million to read it—that is how many have bought it to date—and to follow the King James, than to have two thousand buy it and have the correct translation of Yahweh. . . . It was a hard decision, and many of our translators agree with you.” Concerning the NIV: Bruce Metzger: (NIV) "It is surprising that translators who profess to have 'a high view of scripture" should take liberties with text by omitting words or, more often, by adding words that are not in the manuscripts." The NIV is guilty of both, adding and removing things from God's word. .

Q: whats the big differnce between the niv and nlt bible?
I have niv one but its kinda big and I have a new king james one but I don't like it much. Is the nlt one easier to read or should I get a niv one that's pockeysize? The nlt one looks a lot more condensed and simplified

A: The NIV is already dumbed down so much that it is losing meaning of the scriptures. It is equal to reading at the 7th grade level. Im wondering how much easier you are needing....? The KJV is the most accurate translation. The NASB is nearly as accurate and is an easier read than the KJV.

Q: apparently NIV bible is missing a lot of phases, words, etc....?
so if i want to study the bible very deeply and accurately...the NIV would be a bad choice ? should i just get KJV ?

A: I have several versions of the Holy Bible. Sometimes I will study in all 4 versions and compare. I love my Nelson Study Bible.

Q: Why do so many people read the corrupt NIV Bible?
I am sick of the lies that folks are falling for saying the NIV is easier to read than the KJV. The Flesch-Kincaid Test shows that the NIV is on an 8th-9th grade reading level while the KJV is on a 5th grade reading level. If they (NIV pub) are going to lie about this fact, don't you think they'll lie about more important facts? And for those who try to translate Rev 22:18-19 to mean what you WANT it to mean, just read the verses. They mean what they say! The fact is, to get a copyright, the Bible must be changed in a number of ways, so for the love of money (1 Ti 6:10)over 64,000 words have been taken out to make the NIV. So why do you continue reading these corrupt versions? Prov 24:21 "My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change." Psalm 12:6-7 "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever." To russoisdead. How is MY family life YOUR business??? So what if I have five kids? I'll have as many children as God will allow. I'm still young, I'm still healthy, and I'm still in great shape! There's nothing stopping me. I love children and I have a husband that takes care of us all. We are not on welfare and we do not depend on anyone else to take care of our family, so I'm not sure what your problem is with it. All five of my children are godly children full of love for the Lord and have a desire to win souls. They are not disrespectful little brats who run around restaraunts or stores terrorizing people around them. They are a joy to all those who know them because I've been raising them in the fear and admonition of the Lord. to greatbigkid. Yes, it matters because how do you think the antichrist is going to lead us all into a one world religion???? By slowly taking the words of God out of the hearts of believers and replacing it with 'fluffy feel good' scriptures that DO NOT mean the same thing. to anyone--how many people died for the KJV? How many people have died for any other version???? to johnathon..I think you're the only person who answered me that has any sense! I agree with you that these new versions are a conspiracy of Satan and it is leading the unsuspecting into a one world religion. There aren't too many KJV Bible believers out there, but we can do what we can to show the truth to our friends and family. I see now that posting this question on this website wasn't a very good way to reach people, but you live and learn. I should have prayed about it first :) to mishmash..I never said God doesn't love the reader of the corrupt new age versions, I was only wondering why so many people have been blinded by Satan's ploy to turn beleivers away from God's inspired word. to all...my point of the reading level that the versions are on had nothing to do with MY reading level. But, as for my children, they are very young and it is important to me that they are able to read and understand the Bible....and they do. As for the Old English language, it's beautiful poetry (just like Shakesphere) and I would LOVE it if my husband wrote a love letter to me in Old English. Where do you think the English language came from anyway???? Read the KJV and it will come alive. I have read many other Bible translations (before I saw the light), but when I started reading the KJV, I repented and I'll never read another Bible. By the way, I'm not just blowing smoke as some of you insinuated. My father not only USED to be a pastor, but still is as well as both of my brothers, my husband, my father-in-law, my grandfather, 3 uncles, my brother-in-law, 2 great-uncles, and many friends. (all of them KJV) I have done MUCH study on this matter and I DO know what I'm talking about. to ds... 1 Cor 2:14-15 "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually dicerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man." to davlynark...did you know that when a new testament writer quoted an old testament scripture, they were translating from Hebrew to Greek? Yet, the Bible says in 2 Tim 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." According to the Bible, a translation can be inspired by God.

A: Many people may not see it this way but i think that all these new bibles NIV,nasb, and more are a taktic of satan. you know in the end times every one is going to be of one religion and every one changing to these new bibles i believe is the changing of religions. i use the King James Version AND I LOVE MY GOD.
