Q: Christian counseling- Free?
I'm trying to find some free Christian counseling online, any suggestions? I just need someone to talk to and get advice from. I don't know where to turn for it, though.
A: Please be very careful taking "free advice" over the Internet. With that being said, my advice to you is to make sure that all advice received in person or over the net matches with the Word of God. God's Word tells us exactly how we should live and believe. Our advice is in God's Word. I understand your need for friendship and to talk. Make sure you talk and share with Christian friends or someone from your local fellowship who can be trusted. Especially when we have a "need", we need to make sure that we turn to God's Word for the answers. Sometimes, a Christian friend can help you to implement a solution to your issue by listening to you. We do feel better when someone listens to us. Often, we don't need someone's advice. We really need someone who cares and listens. God is listening now...
The Bible is rich with examples of godly counsel from men and women of God toward others in need and of God Himself counseling His sheep, in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. It is no surprise then that the Lord Jesus Himself shows us some of the greatest examples of godly counsel, as He Himself is the Great Counselor (Isaiah 9:6)
Q: Free Counseling ? Is there such a thing? How about Christian counseling? In the Miami area?
A: Free Christian counseling is available at every church. Go talk to your pastor/priest. If you don't attend church regularly and don't have a pastor/priest that you know, go introduce yourself. Explain that you are having difficulties and want to begin attending services and also talk to them and receive counseling. I'm Catholic and the Catholic Church typically has a large community-based support program. Give it a try.
Q: Did Christian Counseling help you?
My husband and I of 6 1/2 years are not getting along. We are considering Christian Counseling. We do have 2 young girls and hardly a babysitter. We are ALWAYS aggravated with each other. So has Christian Counsleing helped you?
A: Believe it or not, Christians actually have some of the very same pressures that non-Christians do.
My husband and I went to "Christian counseling" because it was free, and it was worth every penny!!! (and then some)
We are still together 15 years later. And that is quite an accomplishment, because I was aiming for "until DEATH do we part" -not mighty Christian if I say so myself.
Q: Can prayer and Christian counseling cure me of my atheism once and for all?
I am hopelessly reasoning and logical and I find blind belief totally baffling...please help me!
queryweary: I'm a rational but warm person and yes I do love to interact with people of whatever creed or none..
amberwaves251: Yes but I can taste smell and feel the air...the air is tangible.
whathappentothisnation: No, what you suggest wouldn't really be any more logical, it would simply have another emphasis.
A: I am sure a frontal labotomy goes a long way towards that goal.
Q: Christian premarital counseling for long distant couple.?
I am recently engaged to my fiance. He lives in Scotland, UK (where we met and have been dating) After being engaged I had to go back to the United States due to visa restrictions. I am not able to go back until a few months before the wedding. I am really passionate about wanting to somehow go through premarital counseling with my Fiance. Even more so it NEEDS to be a Christian counseling session.
Does anyone have any ideas on what my Fiance and I could do to work around this? I have searched online, and there are a lot of regular premarital counseling online suggestions but nothing to do with being Christian. I have seen a few books which I would be open to. But you can never be too sure what is good and what is not.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
A: Hi, congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding. It is very exciting!
You are in luck, there are many providers of Christian premarital counseling on the internet and you can do much of the “counseling” over the internet and phone with great accuracy, if you want to call it that.
You can go to the Prepare-Enrich site, listed in the sources below, and look around. I would love to help you out if you would like to check out my website below, as well. I have a master of divinity degree in counseling, am an ordained minister, have worked as a counselor in the church, and am currently a counseling resident here in Indianapolis, Indiana. I did and currently do countless premarital assessments at the church for couples like yourself.
The assessment can be taken online and the results can be given over the phone and/or internet.
If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to contact me and congratulations for caring enough about your relationship to make it work by trying to get some premarital counseling.

Q: Is Christian counseling good for the person not born of God yet; who is body, soul and dead & blind spirit?
Is Christian counseling good for the person born of the Spirit; Who is made whole; body, soul &spirit?
Because the body is still corruptible (Body being the physical part.).
1 Thes5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; & I pray God your whole spirit; and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Greek -- Same yet the God of the Peace may he be holyizing you & whole-finish and whole-lotted of you; The 'spirit and the soul & the body' unblamably in the beside-being of-the Master of us; Jesus the anointed, may be-being-kept.

A: I'll try to answer this question in my own way.
Any type of counseling helps people who are in need.
Though a Christian counselor may be, by their profession, a counselor FOR Christians, isn't it the Christian way to help ALL those who are in need?
Any counselor should be open enough to help anyone of any background, system of belief or upbringing.
Q: Christians, have any of you ever taken any Christian counseling courses?
I'm currently working towards my bachelors of Science degree in interior design, but when I graduate, I might attend Waynesburg University to get a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology degree in their Christian counseling program. I know it would be a lot more satisfying for me internally and also more beneficial to my work here for the Lord outside of the every day things. I just have a strong desire to reach out and help people through this.
If you have taken any, did you enjoy them? Please discuss
Thanks :)
I never said that the bible was wrong. Christian counseling is great for people because we are all believers and would give the person advice from the bible anyway. Its especially great for new believers who find themselves in hard situations and dont know what to do. Its better for them to come to Christian counselors rather than to people of the world who are just going to innocently steer them towards Satan, but thanks anyway for your comment.....
If God leads me to pursue this, there is no way I would be able to counsel with *out* brining up the Lord, Bible, Law etc. Trust me. In my opinion, that is the whole point....
Thank you all for your beautiful and encouraging responses. I really appreciate them.
God bless :)

Q: Has anyone been to Christian counseling of any kind? Was it helpful?
some details would be helpful...thanx :)
A: I went to a Christian Counseling Center for many years. It was nice because if I wanted to talk about my faith in God or religion or anything like that, they understood and can relate. But it's not like they were pushing religion on me or anything. There were just like a regular therapist or psychiatrist who happens to be Christian or Catholic etc. I think it was a good experience and I found them to be more "grounded" and more down to earth then a regular shrink (who can sometimes be a little weird if you ask me). Good luck.
Q: Is there some place I can get free online Christian counseling?
A: Yep! On your knees in your prayer closet face to face with God alone. You need no appointment. No waiting in line. You have unlimited access to the throne of Grace so you can talk for free all you like....and, His advise, is priceless!
Q: Is Christian counseling good for the whole born again Christian; body, soul & spirit?
A: God's counseling is what is needed.. Read Conversations with God. .Get a copy at your library.. God bless
Q: Should Christian engaged couples have Christian counseling before getting married?
A: hm...I am about to get engaged (we're both Christian) and for some reason this has never come up. Sounds like a good idea though, to look at marriage through a Biblical perspective only - leaving out the secular ideas that are often dragged in with it.
Very good question!
Q: where can i find the laymen's guide to christian counseling?
A: http://www.amazon.com has many of Jay Adams' books
The Self Confrontation book is also an excellent counseling tool for those who want to dig deeply and have the commitment it takes to do so.
