Q: Is it acceptable for christian business owners to charge interest?
My understanding is that we lend without usury to those who are poor(Lev.25:36,Matt.5:42). Does this principle apply to business also? Please provide scripture references.

A: I guess it would depend on the type of business, for example a corporation would be an entity of itself, shared by different owners (share holders) and operated by the board of directors and the employees, in that case the business has to a secular entity, but if the business is a sole proprietor then that means the business is owned by one sole person, at that point I would definitely say it's wrong, I guess its an awkward situation. I know for a fact that muslims are prohibited to charge usury on loans of any type, to rich or poor, but as far as christians, it seems like it's something of trivial value.

Q: Why do christian business owners have to put that damn fish on everything?
Wherever I go I see that fish. Just about every car here had one and now I see it on signs advertising businesses. What do they think I am going to use them because they say they are Christian? If you have to tell people your Christian how Christian are you? Fireball226- I have founld that they are the most unchristian people and honesty is not high on their list. nikola333 - I don't want them to stop putting it up I just want to understand why they feel they must. Scuba Dude - I don't want to 'fight back' but thank for the thought. Maybe I could put the sign of the Goddess on my car.

A: exactly....i'm reading a great book about mister rogers and about how he was a presbyterian minister, but that he NEVER mentioned god or christianity in his show, he led by example, not wearing his religion on his sleeve. that to me is how it should be.

The general idea is to start a christian store, more geared toward teenager, lol, since I am one, but of course it will have things for all ages. Q: Is there a way I can start a Christian Franchise Business? If there was a way, kindly furnish with details.?

A: It depends on the concept. If your business model has proven to be financially successful, you've documented the processes whereby someone else could replicate what you've done, then you probably engage a reputable franchise consulting group like The Entrepreneur's Source. They can assist you with creating a franchise package and attracting interested parties looking to buy into a franchise. One word of caution: If your product or service is one that can be utilized by Christians and non-Christians alike, you should consider not branding your franchise as uniquely "Christian". Your business practices, the way you treat your employees, suppliers and franchisee owners will the main indicators that business seeks to honor Christ in all of its dealings. Your actions are a much stronger statement than saying it. On last thing, one of the other responders to your questions mentioned Chick-fil-A. I have yet to pick up any advertising or packaging from Chick-fil-A to espouse that it is a "Christian" company. What Joe and Susie Consumer know is that Chick-fil-A makes great chicken sandwiches and the service is pretty good. Generally, many employees enjoy working there. That speaks volumes of Truett Cathy's (the founder) beliefs in Actions.

Q: Do christian bookstores ever go "out of business"?
If a Christian book store is spreading the word of God, surely there would be no reason at all that it would close or go out of business for lack of sales, would it? Seems like a good way to make a living?

Q: Is there a book on how to run a small business like a Jew?
I opened a small business. I want my business to grow and prosper. I'm a Christian, and there are a lot of books on how to run a Christian business. But, one college professor once told me "If you want to be successful in business, do business like the Jews". So, does anyone know a book I can read so I can learn how?

A: You don't need a book. Here's the secret: be honest and caring, treat your customers well, and don't take advantage of anyone. Be sure to give at least 10% of your earnings to charity. If you do this, you will be doing business like a Jew. All the best.

Q: Has anyone ever heard of the "Christian home business with THE THREE STEP PLAN", IF SO IS IT A SCAM?

Q: Looking for a family business idea. Interests include computers, investing, Christian music and edification.?
Would like to start an online business. Any ideas for a possible online store - looking for a niche (narrowly targeted market). Thanks!

A: Your interests could work for you when you start an online business. What I suggest you do is research the the potential for a business in your areas of interest and see how much a demand there is in each. Then you should research your competition and see how much business they're pulling in. Once you find something that there is enough demand for and little competition, then you've got your business. Hope this helps. I wish you the best of luck in all your business ventures.

Q: have any of you guys heard of the christian business leaders assocation?
or the embassy for kingdom commerce. i wanted to know what it was and if its good or not or the c12 group? http://www.c12group.com/ http://www.cblaembassy.org/

A: If it's in the same line as that 'God is my business partner' stuff, it's a scam.

Hi, I'm starting a home/office cleaning business. I am a Christian and would love to have a business name that would somehow include a Christian theme although, of course, my clients can be of any denomination. Therefore, a biblical reference would be great. Thanks.

A: "Cleaning for Christ"...

Q: Where can I find business cards in the shape of a Christian fish?
Meaning that the business card stock (paper) is literally cut in the shape of a Christian fish. I already have a logo.

A: Compared to offline businesses, the investment required to start an online business is minimal. A popular way of earning money on the internet is by providing information and services. This can be monetised by advertising or charging a subscription. You can also make money online by selling products on auction websites like eBay or through your own website.
