Q: What are some good Christian support groups or books that deal with the betrayal of a spouse?
I am a Christian 24 year old woman, and I've been married for almost 3 years. Recently my husband confessed he's been living a double life... committing adultery amongst many other sins. He left me and now I'm in need of any information you can give me on Christian support groups, good Christian books, etc. to help me during this difficult time. I go to church, pray and read my Bible. I'm just searching for other things to help supplement. Thank you, and God bless.

A: Stick with that church, they can be a great support. Also, try ot get in a small group there if they have one, and find people you can trust to lean on and be spiritually accountable with. They will no doubt know a lot of resources.

Q: Any good Christian romance books out there for tweens?
I like a little romance, but not too much, and I want a good Christian book for my age. Are there any out there?

A: I can honestly say the best romance book you will ever find is the circle trilogy (Black, red, and white.) by ted dekker. it focuses on a PURE romance of God. Not only will she or even he in my brothers case (he is not gay) get that little butterfly when she reads them, but it will even completely change her relationship with God. I cant tell you how good those books for me were. They have really changed my life! plus they have a little action in them if she likes that. I would highly highly recommend you at least take a look. Another good series is thorn in my heart by liz Curtiss higgs. I really really enjoyed those books, and they have the really hard core romance. they are pure romance books. But i don't recommend them if she is under 16. Last one would be marcia Schuyler or Phoebee dean by Grace livingston hill. Those are perfect for any girl 13-17! im 17 and loved everything (but especially the circle trilogy) Hope thats enough information lol. hope you find something good!

Q: Are there any Christian books for women that unwed and pregnant?
I recently found out that my daughter (21 yrs) is pregnant and shes not married. Im wanting to find a Christian based book that would encourage her to search for help from God, to get her life right with Him. Any suggestions?

A: Bible verses are the most important; having said that, I would suggest talking to someone at a Christian book store because they are full of good info on books.

Q: What are some good Christian books for teens?

A: Jesus Freaks, by dc Talk and The Voice of the Martyrs The Secret life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd A Walk to Remember, by Nicholas Sparks The Chronicles of Narnia have Christian related things in them. some of them are more for girls, since i'm a girl, but whatever. hope this helps =]

I just got done reading a book i decided to buy because of the name and now im looking for more books like it or just as good. The book i read is "its always darkest before the fridge door opens"

A: Where is God when it hurts good book about how to deal with bad situations in life.

Q: Do you know any Christian books online that are about marriage saving?
I mean how to save your marriage using the Bible and Christian life.

A: sorry, no idea at all.

Q: Should Christians only read Christian books?
I'm a Christian myself, and i was wondering about this. I've read many Christian and non christian books but I'm curious about this. I'm having trouble finding Christian novels for teens that I would enjoy seeing as I've already read a lot of them. Also if you have any books to suggest for me (christian teen) I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. Please be serious, i would appreciate answers from another Christian's perspective.

A: the Left Behind series is awesome. My favorite bio is "Rachel's Tears: the Journey of Columbine Martyr, Rachel Scott. Great book! Ask God to help you be wise about the entertainment you indulge to (and not just books, but all forms of entertainment). Do some of the lyrics, images, stories attack God or the Christian faith, or even exalt Satan? Do some promote immorality or other forms of behavior that displease God? Let the psalmist's commitment be yours: "I will have nothing to do with evil" (Psalm 101:4).

Q: Can you recomend any good christian books for young readers?
Preferably chapter books in the 8-12 age range. The only really good ones I've ever come across was the Golden Filly series by Lauraine Snelling. Know of any others? I know where to find books, trust me I have an extensive library. I'm looking for books for my daughter and it seems like the christian genre skips right over adolescent aged kids. I would just like to know if anybody has a specific favorite they could tell me about.

A: The Chronicles of Narnia come to mind first and foremost. They were definitely some of my favorites at that age--and still are to be quite honest. Other favorites included classics like Anne of Green Gables, Emily of New Moon, Little House on the Prarie, Caddie Woodlawn, etc. My mom read us a lot of Lois Lenski books like Strawberry Girl, Betsy-Tacy, Judy's Journey, Cotton In My Sack, etc. Another series which was among my favorites was by Arleta Richardson: In Grandma's Attic, More Stories From Grandma's Attic, Still More Stories from Grandma's Attic, Treasures From Grandma, Away From Home, A School of Her Own, Wedding Bells Ahead, At Home in North Branch, New Faces New Friends, Stories From The Growing Years. I went to a Christian school, where they collected all of the Mandie series by Lois Gladys Leppard. The first in the series is Mandie and the Secret Tunnel. Frank Peretti seems to have two children/YA series going (I'm unsure of the target age group) one is Cooper Kids Adventure Series and the second is Veritas Project. Christianbook.com might also be a good resource. http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/easy_find?N=5100+1030632&Ne=1000000&Nu=product%2Eendeca%5Frollup&Ns=product%2Enumber%5Fsold&event=HPT&Nso=1&category=Kids

Q: What are good christian books with real scientific points ?
I've been listening to Richard Dawkins and it seems so disheartening. To think were here on mere happenstance. Evolution is a controlled process, but what started that process ? Is it not possible that the big bang happened and was indeed started by a designer. I can see no other viable alternative. The universe must have a beggining and an end. Even if this universe was birthed from previous one, there was still a beginning and an end. I believe God can exist. He has always been there, and by that definition he exist outside the real of the natural, therefore concluding he is supernatural. This is the only way i can think with my tiny brain that this universe was created. I mean if not by a designer than by how, and not only that, but created from what ? I want to find books, not nescicarily christian ones, but books that can go toe to toe with dawkin's and other's assertions of the absence of a creator

A: By far, the best books are by Hugh Ross at Reasons To Believe - http://www.reasons.org His newest book is "Creation as Science - A Testable Approach To End The Creation/Evolution Wars" A few of his other books are "The Creator and the Cosmos" , The Fingerprint of God", "The Genesis Question", and "Origins of Life" (Rana & Ross)

Q: Can you please recommend some good teen christian books?
I want to buy some books but I really don't really know what is good.

A: Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis. Also the Chronicles of Narnia. And JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit.

Q: Christian books on changing the world?
Does anyone know of any good Christian books on being a world changer, a radical? Besides the Bible, and the Irresistable Revolution. Just books that talk about how to become a reformer, a revolutionary. Help! I just need a book with strategies, describing how to live like a Christian world changer, not a STORY.

A: Justice in The Burbs by Brian McLaren Free to be Bound by Jonathan Wilson Hartgrove

Q: My wife is about to have our 1st child, I need advice or Christian books on how to rear infants and toddlers?
Please only answer if you have already raised your kids succesfully past the baby and toddler stage. Any advice and or suggestions on books to read would be good.

A: We had excellent results with the Growing Kids God's Way program. We stuck with the basics taught, but we tailored the application to fit each of our children's personalities. We found the program after asking a mother of five how her children could be so well-mannered and considerate of others while still behaving like normal children. She and her husband turned out to be facilitators for the program!

Q: How can I write my own Christian books? Copyrighst, authorizations, to edite , to publish and to print?
i want to wirte books in my main language , portugues, i want to knos the legal steps , the right steps to do it and where can i publish ?

A: I am not really sure how to answer your question but If it is possible I would suggest contacting your nearest Christian bookshop where they may be able to offer helpful advice. I realise that this may be difficult for you to do and I hope that someone may be able to offer you better advice Good luck to you.

Q: Other than DragonSpell what are some good Christian books that include magic/dragons/fantasy?
I love books like DragonSpell and the rest of the series. Books that put God into Fantasy Books. But I can't find any more other than the DragonSpell series.... anyone know about any?

A: God is put into lots of things that are far removed from the kingdom of heaven....if you're looking for Christian books, then they will speak of Jesus Christ in relation to the Heavenly Father. There's a huge difference there. The books you describe sound like an oxymoron - books that are truly based on Christianity are not going to mix Christ with familiar spirits, witchcraft, and lies.

Q: What are some good Christian books?
I all ready read the Left Behind books and please don't say the Bible because I read it a lot all ready. I read the Chronicles of Narnia all ready. I'm reading The Oath by Frank Peretti now.

A: Dinner with a Perfect Stranger: An Invitation Worth Considering followed by A Day with a Perfect Stranger, both by David Gregory, are great books and quite unique. They were both made into good movies (The Perfect Stranger and Another Perfect Stranger), though certain things were changed in the movies. I agree that Frank Peretti's books are worth reading. There is The Oath, This Present Darkness, Piercing the Darkness, The Visitation and many others. A lot of his books are supernatural thrillers. C.S. Lewis also wrote other good books - both non-fiction and fiction. Fiction: You may enjoy The Great Divorce and The Screwtape Letters. Non-Fiction: You may enjoy Mere Christianity and Surprised by Joy: The Shape of My Early Life. Melody Carlson is good. You might like The Christmas Bus. Francine Rivers' The Last Sin Eater is very interesting. If you enjoy historical fiction, I'd recommend The House of Winslow series by Gilbert Morris, The Brides of Montclair series by Jane Peart, The Gresham Chronicles by Lawanna Blackwell and the Savannah series by Eugenia Price. If you enjoy fast paced thrillers, you may like The Last Jihad by Joel C. Rosenberg (and his other books). George MacDonald, the man who originally influenced C.S. Lewis, wrote quite a number of Christian novels like The Vicar's Daughter, The Baronet's Song, The Fisherman's Lady, The Marquis' Secret and also fantasy novels like Phantastes, Lilith, At the Back of the North Wind. Grace Livingston Hill was considered the classic Christian romance writer. Some of her books are According to Pattern, The Girl from Montana, Job's Niece, The Girl of the Woods and many, many others. They are rather gentle reads, written in an obviously more innocent time with heroines who are far more innocent than we'd see today. However, they are surprisingly good stories and quick reads. If you want to check her work out before buying anything, you can read some of the books on http://www.gutenberg.org/author/Grace_Livingston_Hill Gutenberg. This site http://www.christianbook.com/fiction has a very large list of Christian fiction with reviews, summaries and reader's ratings (like Amazon has). You may want to check it out. This site http://books4teensandadults.googlepages.com/christian - made by one of the top contributors on Books & Authors (not I) - is also good & has a list of Christian fiction (as well as other books). I hope this helps. Happy reading!
